What does a small
business website cost?

The useful comparison is the cost of an agreed build plus the cost of keeping it running. A monthly headline and a one-time build price do not describe the same arrangement.

Separate the build from the running costs.

List the pages, content, integrations and review rounds you need first. Then compare the build payment, hosting, ongoing edits, third-party subscriptions and any eventual handoff cost. Two quotes with different inclusions are not directly comparable.

Our current website packages publish the exact USD amounts and allowances. This guide explains the decisions behind them; it is not a market-wide price estimate.

Two ways to pay for the agreed work.

Hybrid: setup plus a monthly plan

A setup payment and a twelve-month initial plan cover the agreed build, year-one hosting and a stated amount of monthly care. From month thirteen, the managed-care rate steps down. It is a commitment with defined exit terms, not a month-to-month cancellation promise.

Milestone: a staged build purchase

The build price is divided across agreed delivery milestones. Ownership is transferred at launch subject to payment and the agreement. Hosting and care after the 30-day warranty are separate choices.

What moves the scope?

Custom pages and content types
A custom page layout takes design and build work. An editable collection lets you add content within an agreed structure; that is different from commissioning more custom layouts.
Integrations
A supported standard connection is different from bespoke middleware or a complex two-way sync. Identify the platforms, fields, permissions and failure behavior before comparing quotes.
Migration
Count the records and inspect their quality. Clean, consistently formatted data is different from duplicate records, missing fields and manual cleanup.
Revision rounds
One structured round means one consolidated batch of feedback on the agreed scope. New features and additional rounds need a separate agreement.

Ask these before you accept a quote.

  1. Which pages, content, integrations and revisions are included?
  2. Who supplies the copy, images, logo and product information?
  3. What are the domain, hosting, platform and usage costs?
  4. Who controls the domain, accounts, source files and customer data?
  5. What is included in ongoing care, and what happens to unused time?
  6. What are the exit, export and handoff terms?

Plan the handoff as well as the launch.

Under our Hybrid terms, an early build buyout uses the difference between the Milestone build price and setup price, multiplied by months remaining and divided by twelve. After the initial twelve months there is no build buyout, but the applicable export fee remains. Check your written agreement and current terms for the full arrangement.

“No hidden fees” means agreed work and disclosed costs. It does not mean unlimited labor or free third-party services.
